Lightweight Articulated Jib Cranes
At Givens Lifting Systems, we design and manufacture lightweight, articulating jib cranes in the United States to meet your specific industry requirements.
It is often necessary to avoid objects in industrial spaces. When traditional jib cranes cannot reach, articulated jib cranes are the ideal lifting solution. The joint at the midpoint of our articulated jib cranes allows the jib to move around obstructions and approach walls where a straight jib would not be able to operate. Articulated jibs are generally-speaking easier to move than straight jib cranes, but they are more expensive.
Articulating Jib Cranes for Versatile Work-spaces
1. Providing Workstation Flexibility
When the removal of beams and columns is not an option within the work environment, articulated jib cranes are a great solution. A jib crane with an articulated arm is suitable for loads that require significant manipulation. These custom industrial cranes move loads around obstacles and doorways making them more versatile than traditional jib cranes.
Articulating Jib Crane Components
2. A Fixed Hoist
Articulated jib cranes have no crane rail and no trolley. The hoist is fixed at the end of the articulating jib boom.
3. Custom Articulating Arm Lengths
Articulated jib crane arm lengths are chosen to suit the task at hand. Arm 1 (nearest the column) and Arm 2 are each available in 10″ increments.
Articulating Jib Crane Models
4. Rated for Moment Capacity
We offer articulated jib cranes in these models:
Articulated Jib Cranes Rated for Moment Capacity
Our articulated jib cranes are rated for their moment capacity, in-lbs. For example, an AJ60 has a moment capacity of 60,000 in-lb from the column.
How to Estimate the Moment Capacity
The moment can be estimated by: Boom length x (hoist weight + end effector weight + load weight) x 1.35.
