STD-ET Electric Tractor Drive

Givens is giving automation systems more to hold onto. With both pneumatic and electric gripper options in our lineup. We offer two powerful solutions for cranes, manipulators, and robots, each engineered for control, safety, and load flexibility. But the differences between the two go far beyond what powers them.

Pneumatic Gripper STD-G
STD-ET Electric Tractor Drive w/ Operator

The STD-G series, use a single moving jaw supported by high-precision linear rail bearings for consistent control across the stroke.

They’re lightweight, durable, and fast-acting, and thanks to a pilot-operated check valve, they’ll hold their grip even if air pressure fails. Ideal for facilities with existing pneumatic infrastructure, they handle parts from 2 to 500 lbs with jaw moments up to 5000 in-lbf.

Including the G46E and G56E, feature a patent-pending spring-loaded design that holds tight without consuming power post-grip. The motor continues to compress the spring after contact, allowing the grip force to scale with demand.

Grip Detect and Part Present sensing options provide operators with real-time feedback, making these grippers a precision fit for robotic systems and applications with variable part sizes.

Both systems reflect Givens’ hallmark reliability, safety features, and operator efficiency. Choosing between an electric or pneumatic gripper depends on your facility’s existing infrastructure, the complexity of control needed, and whether your priority is precise, programmable motion (electric) or faster, high-force actuation (pneumatic).

Pneumatic grippers excel in air-equipped plants with demands for speed and simplicity.

Electric grippers offer intelligent control, safety backup, and energy savings-perfect for modern or varied-load systems.
